Comments on Lecturers and Tutors: Nothing to comment here, but tutorial preparations are "strongly encouraged".
Comments about Module: I had been looking forward to a "Critical Thinking" module that is even more geared towards Engineering, with a key emphasis on specific applications for engineers. The department has tried by focusing on topics on sustainable development and evaluating (only) engineering solutions for regional problems, but for this to remain relevant to FoE the emphasis needs to be even more drastic. For most JC students this module would have turned out to be another round of GCE A Level General Paper (the "Application Question" portion) and Project Work subjects combined (all over again!).
Recommended Textbook (if applicable): None, but tutorial notes are a must-read.
Workload/Preparation Time Required: 1/2 hour for each tutorial preparation, 4 hours per week for Assignments 1 & 2.
What do you like or dislike about this module?: Likes: An even allocation of marks means that each assignment and the final exam are all equally important, and is a very accurate reflection of the required workload.
Dislikes: This module badly needs an even greater emphasis on engineering applications. Could have been merged with ES2331 to cut down on curricula I would say?
